On February 12, the NPP's youth management met with Afghan veterans at its training center.
Seven employees of Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant took part in combat operations in Afghanistan. Having fulfilled their military duty with honor and dignity, they continue to work diligently for the benefit of our country.
Opening the meeting, Dmitry Aksenin, chairman of the enterprise's primary trade union, noted the importance of preserving the facts of that time and passing them on to the younger generation. He thanked the Afghan veterans for their courage and loyalty to their military oath.
Afghan veteran Vatslav Kozlovsky, who was awarded the Order of the Red Star for his courage in Afghanistan, delivered a response. He thanked the company's management and trade union for their attention and for remembering the events in which they had been directly involved.
The "Served Properly and Returned" campaign was also held to coincide with Internationalist Warrior Remembrance Day. Three young men returned to the workforce in 2025.
Internationalist soldiers and young professionals who completed their military service in the Republic of Belarus, received commemorative gifts. During a roundtable tea party, the company's young employees had the opportunity to learn about the war in Afghanistan. While talking with the youth, the veterans shared their memories of the events that unfolded in Afghanistan during those years.
On the eve of Remembrance Day, a rally was held in Ostrovets at the memorial to internationalist soldiers. Employees of Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant who took part in the war in Afghanistan and representatives of the plant's workforce paid tribute and expressed gratitude to the servicemen who defended the interests of the Motherland in international military conflicts.
