Priesthood from Alexander Nevsky Church visited Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant

On June 23, 2026, priesthood from the Church of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky in Minsk, led by the rector, Archpriest Nikolai Korzhich, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Church's Board of Trustees, Vladimir Drazhin, visited Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.

At the nuclear power plant, guests were met by Director General of Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant Sergei Bobovich, the first head of the enterprise and Chairman of the Council of Veterans Mikhail Filimonov, and Rector of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Ostrovets Georgy Savitsky.

The visit began with attendance of the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov, located near the nuclear power plant's training center. Father Georgy gave a brief history of the church's construction, and the guests were deeply impressed by its architecture and interior decoration.

At the NPP information center, Sergei Bobovich and Mikhail Filimonov introduced guests to the history of domestic nuclear energy and the construction of Belarusian NPP, emphasizing strict adherence to safety standards and technologies during both the NPP's construction and its initial operation.

The priesthood learned about nuclear technology, the safety systems implemented in Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant project, personnel training, and much more.

"Thank you so much for today! We are absolutely delighted!" shared Archpriest Dmitry Khoroshko, one of the visitors, who attended the event.

"Words of sincere gratitude for the exceptional hospitality during our visit to Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant!" Vladimir Drazhin remarked following the visit.
