On July 16, 2025, the second power unit of Belarusian NPP was disconnected from the grid by the personnel. The reason was the activation of an alarm about a deviation in the operation of the generator cooling system - the non-nuclear part of the unit.
The situation is normal and does not pose a threat to the safe operation of the plant. The radiation background at the NPP and in the observation zone did not change. The power supply to consumers was not disrupted.
Currently, the necessary diagnostic measures are being carried out at the second power unit for the subsequent restoration of the operation of electrical and technical equipment.
