Written by Department of information and public relations

Representatives of the CIS Observer Mission showed interest not only in issues of the election campaign in Belarus, but also in issues of peaceful nuclear energy.

On January 27, 2025, national observers visited Belarusian NPP information center, where they learned about the progress of the “AES-2006 Generation 3+” project, the basic operating principles of the nuclear power plant, and its impact on the welfare of the country as a whole.

After the theoretical part, the CIS Observer Mission members went to the training building for practical skills. Experienced personnel training instructors demonstrated in practice how the NPP is controlled using a full-scale simulator of a control panel. In the radiation safety class, the observers were shown the operation of the radioactive contamination monitoring unit, individual dosimeters and PPE used at  Belarusian NPP.

“After what I saw and heard today, I am very impressed,” said one of the members of the CIS Observer Mission.
