Technopark students met with the head of Belarusian NPP

Written by Department of information and public relations

The dialogue between students of the National Children's Technopark and the General Director of Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant Sergei Bobovich completed the program of another visit of children studying in “Energy of the Future”. The young guests were interested in literally everything: the safety of the NPP and its differences from a thermal power plant, the most popular specialties and universities that train specialists for the nuclear power industry.

The guys also paid attention to the most significant moments of the general director’s work biography, as well as his experience in obtaining professional education. Fortunately, Sergei Olegovich had something to share with future university students. The head of Belarusian NPP has two higher education diplomas with honors. Sergei Bobovich answered all the questions of the younger generation patiently and thoroughly.

The conversation with the general director was preceded by a traditional tour of the key facilities of the nuclear power plant. Students of the next shift of the technology park, among them being  probably future employees of Belarusian NPP, visited the information center of the nuclear power plant, got acquainted with the work of a full-scale simulator of the power unit control panel, simulators of the central control center and the radiation control point in the NPP training center.

The head of the operational and production service of the nuclear power plant, Alexander Maslov, told the guys about the work of the central control room of the nuclear power plant. And the head of the turbine shop, Andrei Lazovsky, gave a detailed tour of the turbine hall of power unit No. 2.

Technopark students also became familiar with the operation of a complete 330 kV SF6 gas switchgear, evaporative cooling towers, spray ponds and other nuclear power plant facilities.
