The trip was initiated by a Lithuanian citizen, a resident of Kalveliai localty Ivan Chepukovich. According to him, the purpose of the trip to Ostrovets was to get acquainted with the city of power engineers under construction and, first of all, to receive objective information about Belarusian NPP under construction.
The management of RUE "Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant" supported the initiative of its neighbors and prepared a rich informative program for the guests. The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Lithuania has taken care of the timely receipt of entry visas by the participants of the trip.
The event began with a visit to the information center, where a meeting was held with the Chairman of Ostrovets Region Council of Deputies, Irina Talchuk, Deputy Chairman of Ostrovets Region Executive Committee Viktor Zelenko, Deputy Director General of RUE "Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant" Valery Senuta.
During the acquaintance with the exposition of the information center, Lithuanian citizens got acquainted with the project of Belarusian NPP and the security systems implemented in it, learned about the impact of nuclear energy on the environment, the choice of a site for the construction of the nuclear power plant, received answers to all questions concerning the construction of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.
The visitors have got acquainted with a city of power engineers, its historical, new and microdistricts under construction. The current state and prospects of the development of Ostrovets was described in detail by Irina Talchuk accompanying the residents of Kalveliai.
The final point of the excursion trip was the construction site of Belarusian NPP, where the participants of the trip personally appreciated the scale of the construction of the most grandiose energy facility in Belarus.
Summarizing the results of the trip, the residents of Kalveliai thanked the organizers for their informative and open information, expressed their unanimous support for the ongoing project of Belarusian NPP and wished for the successful completion of its construction.
