Teachers and medical workers were provided with comfortable modern housing in Ostrovets

Written by Department of information and public relations

An important event in the social life Ostrovets: a ceremonial handover of keys to cozy, spacious apartments for teachers and medical workers took place. This step became part of a comprehensive program to attract highly qualified specialists necessary for the sustainable functioning of all spheres of life in a modern atomic city.

The development of nuclear energy is inextricably linked with the creation of favorable conditions for the life and work of people who ensure its activities. Ostrovets, being a satellite town of Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, is actively growing and needs a constant influx of professionals in education and health care. It is these specialists who form the basis of a high-quality social environment, ensuring a high standard of living for the NPP employees and their families.

26 employees of the social and cultural sphere received the keys to rental apartments. This opportunity was provided to the city by Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, which, at the request of the district executive committee, allocated rental apartments in house No. 1 on Korotkevich Street to employees of the most in-demand professions in the country. The housing is located in the second microdistrict of the city with developed infrastructure: a school, kindergartens, a clinic, stores and recreation areas are within walking distance, which makes life in the new house as comfortable and convenient as possible.

The ceremony of handing over the keys was attended by representatives of the local administration, the management of Belarusian NPP and, of course, the main heroes of the day – teachers and doctors.

"These are not just square meters, these are investments in the future of our city. We understand that in order to attract and retain personnel, it is important to provide conditions for a comfortable life, for the development of families. Teachers and doctors are the foundation of any society, and we are proud that we can create such conditions for them," said Boris Paramonov, Deputy Director General of  Belarusian NPP.

Providing housing for teachers and doctors in Ostrovets is a striking example of a comprehensive approach to the development of a region where strategic energy projects are inextricably linked with the creation of a comfortable and safe social environment for all its residents. This step is a confirmation that the leadership of the city and the state enterprise "Belarusian NPP" pays primary attention to the well-being of those who work daily for the benefit of society.
