The grand opening of the facility took place at the roundabout intersection of Ostrovets-Oshmyany-Smorgon highway in August 2025, on the eve of City Day.
The composition combines elements of modern design, architectural lighting, and national ornamentation, serving not just as a visual landmark but as a full-fledged symbol of the city and region. Over the past decade, thanks to the construction of the first Belarusian nuclear power plant, Ostrovets has transformed from a small settlement into a city of energy workers. It's understandable, then, that the new structure is based on a spherical image of an atom—a symbol of scientific and energy progress.
The size of the stele at its peak “wingspan” is 10.21 m, the height of the composition is 18.95 m, and the diameter of the ball is 3 m.
The competition jury, consisting of recognized experts in construction, architecture and design, awarded the facility a 1st degree diploma.
