Intergovernmental agreement was signed on cooperation between Belarus and Russia in transportation of nuclear materials

On November 8, 2021, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich and General Director of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom Alexei Likhachev signed an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in transportation of nuclear materials.

The document was signed as part of the implementation of the Union program in nuclear energy, approved by the Heads of States on November 4.

The agreement defines the procedure for the transportation of nuclear materials between the states.

During the meeting, which took place in Moscow, Viktor Karankevich and Alexey Likhachev discussed the progress of BelNPP construction project, as well as issues of further cooperation between Belarus and the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom.
