Written by Department of information and public relations

Belarus prepares for a mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to assess the readiness of the national nuclear energy infrastructure for the NPP operation (INIR 3).

The mission will begin its work on February 24, 2020. During the INIR 3 mission, the country's readiness will be assessed to operate the plant across the entire nuclear infrastructure complex, that is, in 19 directions. "This is our main exam over the years of work on the implementation of the nuclear energy program," Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk said.

The preparations for the mission were discussed at a workshop in Minsk, which considered the preliminary report prepared by Belarusian side on the development of all areas of nuclear infrastructure and other organizational issues for the IAEA INIR 3 mission, which will be held in Belarus. The meeting was attended by representatives of all organizations involved in the implementation of the nuclear energy project.

The meeting was opened by Deputy Minister of Energy Vadim Zakrevsky. In his welcoming remarks, he thanked the IAEA experts for fruitful cooperation and great joint work.
