Belarus will present the results of the stress tests at nuclear power plants of the European Commission. This was stated today to journalists the Minister of energy Vladimir Potupchik before the final Board meeting of the energy Ministry, BelTA has learned.

"In December we received the results of the stress tests, now they are processed at a nuclear plant in the near future will be directed to our regulator (the Gan). On the basis of these materials will be prepared a national report which will be submitted to the European Commission - said Vladimir Potupchik. - Soon, Deputy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk will travel to Luxembourg for talks with representatives of the European community regarding the analysis of these stress tests." The results of the stress tests will also be presented to the public. "The conduct of the stress tests was planned in 2011. We will not step away from these obligations and fulfilled all that was needed, including in the framework of the decisions of the meeting of the parties to the Espoo Convention", - said Vladimir Potupchik.

Stress tests are the verification of extreme impacts and adaptation NPP in case of emergencies. During stress tests, the works on evaluation of NPP safety in the occurrence of extreme environmental conditions, predicted effects of such natural factors as the combination of flooding, extreme weather conditions and external influences, the consequences of loss of safety functions caused by the loss of power supply nuclear power plants.
