In Minsk have started the work of the IAEA mission to evaluate the safety of the site for the Belarusian NPP

16 January 2017, the International atomic energy Agency (IAEA) Site and External Events Design Review (mission SEED) has begun its work.
The mission team includes leading international and IAEA experts from USA, Poland, France, Hungary, Turkey, Romania. The Belarusian side is represented by the professionals and experts of relevant ministries and organizations. Deputy Minister of energy Mikhail Mikhadyuk, welcomed experts of the IAEA and thanked the IAEA Secretariat for organizing of the mission and made a point of its importance for our country. The parties agreed on the agenda of the mission and began discussing the issues. The mission will last till 20 Jan 2016 From 2007 to the present time a number of IAEA missions, workshops, consultations, and seminars were held in Belarus. The primary purpose of these activities is the promotion of our country in the development and improvement of the national legislation in the field of nuclear energy, development of nuclear power infrastructure and staff training system for the nuclear power programme.
